An Evening of Caroling and Prayer for Ukraine in Portland

As the winter chill sets in, the warmth of community spirit blazes stronger than ever among the Ukrainian diaspora in Portland. The Ukrainian-American community in Portland and Vancouver invites you to an enchanting evening of traditional Ukrainian caroling and heartfelt prayers for Ukraine.

On January 10, 2015, starting at 5 PM, the Ukrainian Bible Church of Portland will open its doors to host the “Christmas Prayer for Ukraine.” This event promises to be a tapestry of cultural heritage and spiritual solace, as we come together to sing carols and offer prayers for peace and prosperity for our motherland.

The program features an impressive lineup of participants from local Ukrainian churches and organizations, including the Ukrainian Bible Church, the Ukrainian Church ‘Way to God,’ and the Ukrainian ‘Living Hope Church.’ In a special highlight of the evening, Mayor Charlie Hales is set to deliver a poignant address, emphasizing the city’s support for the Ukrainian community.

Accompanied by the melodious performances of carolers and musicians like Oksana Podiuk, the event will be a profound expression of unity and hope. The evening is not just a spiritual gathering but also a demonstration of unwavering support for the Ukrainian nation, as the community comes together to uplift spirits and extend its prayers across the seas to their loved ones in Ukraine.

Let us join voices in carols and prayers, and stand in solidarity with Ukraine during these times of hardship.
